Born and raised in San Francisco and currently based in Los Angeles, Lara Sarkissian is a multifaceted artist who's the co-founder of the label and event series CLUB CHAI, a solo artist with past releases on labels such as Tresor and Knekelhuis, and an adventurous DJ with a bi-monthly residency on NTS Radio. Her unique approach to composition stems from her filmmaking and video editing work which has garnered exhibitions at Berlin's Gropius Bau, Montréal's Musée d'art contemporain, and the Music Center Los Angeles, among other prestigious institutions.
She recently released her debut full-length album Remnants on her own newly-launched label btwn Earth+Sky. Never shy to expose her deep connection with her heritage, the album is an ornate patchwork of ancient and modern sonic shapes that uses electronic music to reformulate Armenian traditions and memories.
