In the roughly 2,437 episodes of The Roadhouse, Vandy has never, ever played the band that explored the same musical backroads as him for half a century, the band that generations of fans believe is synonymous with American music: the Grateful Dead. But like any true American, Vandy is willing to change his opinion when presented with new information and/or cool people who think differently.
As the official response to his Fall Drive listener challenge, Greg invited four esteemed Deadheads to play their favorite Dead songs and convince Greg to finally like this band. Joining Greg back on Sunday, November 17th was Jonathan Zwickel, Lewi Longmire, Adam Spangler, and DJ Stonebunny. DJ Kevin Sur, host of KEXP's Sounds of Survivance, served as referee and producer Franny Thomas fielded comments from The Roadhouse audience via text and email.
