Theon Cross is a London-based tuba player, composer, and member of the renowned British jazz band Sons Of Kemet. A vital force in London’s thriving jazz scene, Theon’s music explores themes of self-reliance, origins, identity, and more. This past October, Theon released his second solo album Intra-I to critical acclaim. The album is an exploratory and uplifting celebration of Black music that blends jazz with hip-hop, grime, dub, soca, and other styles, and features songs that examine self-development, the importance of history and heritage, and the strength in adversity shown by the first generation of post-war Caribbean immigrants to the UK.
