A key behind-the-scenes player in Chicago's contemporary hip-hop scene, producer Smoko Ono’s beatmaking prowess has led to an ever-expanding list of high-profile collaborations including breakthrough work alongside fellow Windy City artists Vic Mensa and Chance the Rapper, Grammy-nominated production work on Cordae’s 2019 record 'The Lost Boy,' and 2021 production work on the soundtrack to Space Jam: A New Legacy and Burna Boy and Polo G's collaborative hit "Want It All." The past couple years have seen Smoko Ono increasingly bubble up into the spotlight with his own genre-blurring sound across a fresh run of singles that have featured vocal assists from old friends Chance The Rapper and Vic Mensa, as well as Samm Henshaww, Joey Purp, Yxng Bane, Corinne Bailey Rae, UMI, and more.
