DJ Harrison is the alias of Richmond, Virginia-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Devonne Harris, a multi-faceted artist consistently exploring the intersection of hip-hop, jazz, R&B, soul, funk, and rock to create his unique homespun style of Black American Music. The son of a radio DJ who introduced him to the world of record collecting, Devonne grew up playing and studying music, evolving into a versatile player able to nimbly work as a solo artist, an in-demand session player, and member of numerous bands including Butcher Brown and The Spacebomb House Band. DJ Harrison released Tales From The Old Dominion this past December, marking his second album for revered Los Angeles label Stones Throw Records. The album finds inspiration in the Black Lives Matter protests of 2020, reflects on his hometown's complicated history, and spotlights Harris' genre-blurring style with guest appearances from Stimulator Jones, Pink Siifu, and more.
