The idea that we need to be reminded to remember David Crosby’s name seems almost laughable. One of the iconic voices in Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and a prolific solo artist in his own right, Crosby has penned some of the most timeless musical works of his generation. But throughout his career, he’s encountered his fair share of drama and heartbreak.
With David Crosby: Remember My Name, director A.J. Eaton and producer Cameron Crowe spend multiple days interviewing Crosby as he looks back on his life and worries about his fate. He openly wonders how he’s still alive, surviving multiple heart attacks in recent years – not to mention a lifetime of drug use. It’s Crosby at his most honest, searching for answers and airing out his own mistakes.
For all the controversy he’s been steeped in over the years, Crosby’s love and talent for music are sure to shine through in the film. As he says in the trailer, it’s what he feels like he has to offer the world. For fans of Crosby or even those tangentially familiar, Remember My Name promises to give a tender and honest look at the seminal artist.
