With El Sonido, KEXP has space every Monday dedicated to spreading Ibero-American music. Three hours a week is not enough so we decided to summon some of the best representatives in different cities of Latin America, Spain, and the United States to curate playlists with emerging and essential artists from their countries so we can discover more.
Leandro Rissi, regular KEXP listener and Amplifier, is the collaborator for El Sonido from Brazil. He was born in Pirassununga (São Paulo) and currently lives in Rio de Janeiro. He has volunteered twice at KEXP in Seattle and we are excited that he’ll be making his third visit here later in 2019.
His playlist O Som (The Sound) was created with the latest musical releases from the Brazilian independent scene of 2018 and 2019 in mind.
