If you're looking for the stars of tomorrow in the Pacific Northwest, Sound Off! has always been a key resource in that search. Though there are great rewards and significant bragging rights in winning the long-running competition, scores of finalists and semifinalists have gone on to profound acclaim in Seattle and beyond. (Take Parisalexa, Naked Giants, Falon Sierra, and Strawberry Mountain, for instance.) This Saturday, March 2nd, this year's four finalists will take the stage at MoPOP's Sky Church in hopes of being the winner of Sound Off! 2019. And as usual, Audioasis will be broadcasting live, with DJ Abbie emceeing the festivities.
Just like in years past, 2019's Sound Off! finals feature a diverse set of musical acts vying for the prestige of being named the competition's winner. There's Seattle soul group i///u, Port Orchard rapper Alex Cade, Tacoma synth-pop/R&B singer/songwriter Baja Boy, and Seattle jazz/hip-hop outfit Huey and the InFLOWentials (this year's wildcard finalist). As finalists of Sound Off!, these groups aren't just offered the opportunity of bragging rights; they also receive studio time, airplay, and gear, all valuable tools for fledgling artists to continue plying their craft.
Tickets to Saturday's event are $14 for the general public, $10 for MoPOP members and students with ID, and $5 for TeenTix members. Doors are at 6:00pm, and the festivities start at 7:00. Online tickets are available here.
