Folk musician Sam Beam released his latest Iron & Wine album, Beast Epic, last year. It was his first in six years and there were a number of songs that weren’t finished in time to end up on the album. Today, Beam has announced that some of those songs will be released on a new EP called Weed Garden. He’s also shared a single off it, “What Hurts Worse.” The Weed Garden EP is out August 31 on Sub Pop. [ SPIN ]

Former Throwing Muses and 50FootWave member Kristin Hersh has announced a new album called Possible Dust Clouds and shared its lead single, “No Shade In Shadow.” Possible Dust Clouds follows 2016’s Wyatt at the Coyote Palace. Hersh says this about the new album: “Sometimes the most subversive thing I can do musically is adhere to standard song structure, sometimes the creepiest chords are the ones we’ve heard before, twisted into different shapes, and sometimes a story is lived a thousand times before we can ride it like a roller coaster.” Possible Dust Clouds is out October 5 via Fire Records. Tyler, the Creator and A$AP Rocky have teamed up for a new single called “Potato Salad.” The collab was released as a part of Rocky’s new visual mixtape AWGE DVD Vol. 3. The clip for “Potato Salad” sees Tyler and Rocky messing around in Paris. The two have previously worked together a number of times, including the songs “What the Fuck Right Now” and “Who Dat Boy.” Tyler released the single “Nights Like This” last week and released his latest full-length, Testing, earlier this year. Tyler has spent the past year, since the release of Flower Boy, dropping single after single. [ Consequence of Sound ]

Arctic Monkeys stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night to perform “The Ultracheese,” off of their latest album Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino. Frontman Alex Turner debuted a new look, shaving off his hair and his previously-worn goatee. The Late Show chose to display the band in black & white video. Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino is their first full-length since 2013’s AM. The Arctic Monkeys will be in Seattle on Tuesday, October 23 to play the WaMu Theatre. [ Rolling Stone ]

Philadelphia trio Swearin’ reunited earlier this year to open a few Superchunk shows and, today, they’ve announced their first album in five years. Titled Fall Into the Sun, the Allison Crutchfield-led band calls it “the adult Swearin’ album.” The lead single, “Grow Into a Ghost,” has been shared. Fall Into the Sun follows 2013’s Surfing Strange and will be released October 5 via Merge. Swearin’ will take the Chop Suey stage on Sunday, August 5 with Mike Krol. [ Under the Radar ]
