Crate diggers, get ready. Record Store Day returns for its 11th year running on April 21, 2018, this year enlisting everyone's favorite vicious rap duo Run The Jewels as this year's ambassador. But beyond the pomp and circumstance, now's the time to get to the real star of the music holiday: the records. This year's list boats over 400 titles of RSD exclusives, first pressings, and limited run LPs and singles.
Jeff Buckley's stirring Live at Sin-e will finally get a four disc comprehensive pressing, Arcade Fire's 2003 pre-Funeral EP gets an exclusive release as does Courtney Barnett's A Sea of Split Peas double EP. Fresh off his Oscar nomination, Sufjan Stevens debuts the Mystery of Love EP featuring his contribution to the Call Me By Your Name soundtrack. For hip-hop heads, the ambassadors themselves RTJ will release a Stay Gold box set (actually made of metal!) and there's a slew of classic singles from the likes of Dr. Dre, The Notorious B.I.G., and Aaliyah to peruse through.
Check out the pdf of the full list for yourself and start making your RSD wishlists now.
Record stores across the city are not only carrying RSD releases, but also offering other deals, in-store performances, and even donuts. Start planning your record hunt with this breakdown of events happening around town for RSD 2018.
