In February, MoPop’s annual under-21 competition, Sound Off!, brought together twelve of the region’s most promising young artists. This Saturday, March 3, four finalists will battle it out at MoPop’s Sky Church stage for a chance to be crowned the 2018 Sound Off! winner. KEXP will be there to chronicle all of the excitement. From 6:00 to 9:00 PM, KEXP’s Audioasis will be broadcasting live from MoPOP. DJ Troy Nelson will emcee the concert, while DJ Sharlese spins tunes in between the live performances.
There’s a little something for all music fans checking out the finals, as this year’s finalists include psych rockers Strawberry Mountain, blues-folk songwriter Micaiah Sawyer, rapper Misundvrstood and indie-pop act Maiah Wynne. (The latter is a wild card artist.) As finalists, these acts receive recording time, gear, radio airplay, festival performances, and more. The finalists also had the chance to perform in the KEXP studios. Watch video from those sets below.
Tickets to tonight’s show are $14 for the general public, $10 for students with ID, $9 for MoPOP Members, and $5 for Teen Tix Members. (Online tickets available here.) Doors are at 7:00 PM with the show starting at 8:00 PM.
