Last year, alt-rock veterans Buffalo Tom released a 25th Anniversary Edition of their breakout album Let Me Come Over. And now in 2018, the long-running band are releasing their first new album in six years, Quiet and Peace, due March 2nd via Scrawny/Schoolkids Records. Today, KEXP is excited to premiere the video for the track "Roman Cars," which you can watch below.
Against a beautifully-animated clip, painted in muted colors, the band delivers that exuberant, Big-Star-esque sound that we fell in love with 25 years ago. As the vocals of bassist-vocalist Chris Colbourn and singer-guitarist Bill Janovitz chime together in harmony, shapes and scribbles serenely float across the screen. Quiet and Peace features the most songs with lyrics and lead vocals from Colbourn than any other Buffalo Tom record to date, including today's featured track. About the video, Colbourn tells KEXP:
"In this song Buffalo Tom take a rollercoaster ride from grumpy middle age back to the halcyon days of youth. For the video, we decided to utilize the great cover art we have for the album and think it came out great."
