Crater's afternoon set on the KEXP stage was an act of perseverance. The Seattle electronic act had a few technical difficulties midway through their set, delaying the track "Crater Head." Some well-played banter about vampires by lead vocalist Ceci Gomez kept the audience rapt and at attention until the music could get back up again. The patience from both the band and the audience proved one thing for sure: they're a band worth waiting for. If you closed your eyes, you could feel like you were in a dark, hazy club with their looming synthesizer lead riffs and clamoring beats even if it was really the middle of the day at the Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival with the sun beaming in through the windows. Once the band found their stride after a brief malfunction, they became the unstoppable force we all know them to be.
