  • Cleveland post-punk band Cloud Nothings are following up this year's Life Without Sound with a new track, "Relief." The previously unreleased demo is a contribution to a forthcoming benefit compilation, Taking It To Heart, Volume Two, which is raising money for the Heart And Stroke Foundation. Frontman Dylan Baldi said of the stripped down, lo-fi track, “I had this demo of a song that I made last summer that was probably just going to sit around forever. [Treeline’s] Ryan [Montemurro] got in touch about the Taking It to Heart compilation, and it seemed like an appropriate spot for the tune. It’s always nice to be able to contribute something to a good cause.” Taking It to Heart, Volume Two will be out October 13 via Treeline Recordings. [ Pitchfork ]

  • The highly anticipated collaborative album between Kurt Vile and Courtney Barnett, Lotta Sea Lice, is being released on October 13 via Matador. Today the duo shared one of its singles called "Continental Breakfast," along with a video directed by Danny Cohen. The intimate video follows Vile and Barnett with their respective loved ones over the course of a day. Cohen said that film is, "an intimate home movie into their lives and the time spent with family and friends between recording /touring. Shot on 16mm, the mini-documentary captures honest moments that show the loving and playful nature of both Courtney and Kurt. It was such a treat to experience life with Courtney and Kurt in their natural habitats. It really left me feeling like part of the family and hopefully, fans can feel that too." Kurt Vile and Courtney Barnett are playing The Moore Theatre on Saturday, October 21 and The Showbox on Sunday, October 22, and will be LIVE on KEXP on Sunday, October 22nd at 1:00 PM. • The suspicions were correct: Yeah Yeah Yeahs have announced that they'll be releasing a reissue of their 2003 critically-acclaimed debut album, Fever To Tell. Yesterday they shared a new song off the reissue, "Phone Jam," and today they've shared the two-minute demo "Shake It." They've played the song live since 2002 but a recording has never been released. The reissue will be the first time in a decade that Fever To Tell has been available on vinyl. There will also be a $195 box set with more tracks, old photos, a mini film, and other memorabilia. Both are available October 20. [ SPIN ]

  • English band The Horrors released their fifth album, fittingly titled V, last Friday and today they've revealed a video for album closer "Something to Remember Me By." Directed by Max Weiland, the unsettling video features the band in some sort of science complex, where they sign away their lives to be tested on and to have their blood, sweat, and sperm collected and made into items sold to the masses. They've previously shared a video for the single, "Machine." [ Stereogum ]
