What do you get when you combine "glitch folk" locals Motopony with Euro-electropop duo Pegboard Nerds? You get "Free," a new single making its world debut today on The Morning Show with John Richards.
It's a surprising collaboration: Norwegian DJ Alexander Odden and Danish DJ Michael Parsberg have been active in the EDM scene as DJs and producers since 2011 under the "Pegboard Nerds" moniker. On their most recent LP, 2015's Welcome You, Motopony combined a '60s sound with soul, funk, rock, and folk. Perhaps EDM seemed like the logical next step in their musical exploration? Frontman Daniel Blue says a third album, titled 50 Katrinas, is on its way, and we can't wait to hear what direction he takes Motopony next.
