Los Angeles artist Ramona Gonzalez launched her Nite Jewel project back in 2008, unveiling a magnetic fusion of dreamy synth-pop, ethereal R&B, woozy funk, and hazy disco on early hotly-tipped releases for Italians Do It Better as well we her own label, Gloriette Records. A prolific artist and active collaborator, Nite Jewel recently released her fourth studio album Real High and will be performing in Seattle on July 9th at Barboza and then stopping by KEXP on July 10th to do a live in-studio performance at 3:00 pm. In anticipation of her upcoming Seattle spot, she's pieced together a stunning guest DJ mix for Midnight in a Perfect World that spotlights her wide-ranging influences as well as her deep crates, effortlessly mixing obscure synth-pop gems, woozy lo-fi house rhythms, breezy tropical grooves, timeless slow-motion R&B ballads, infectious disco beats, and soulful West Coast hip-hop for a supremely smooth sonic journey.
