What was formerly known as What the Heck Fest, and then most recently known as the Anacortes Unknown Music Series, has now become The Business Presents, a fitting new title as it's being presented by The Business, a long-running record store (and now, distro!) based in Anacortes, WA.
A jam-packed weekend of music is planned for today, Friday, July 14th, through tomorrow, Saturday, July 15th. Local crooner Karl Blau kicks things off at 4:00 PM as he leads listeners down the "Friendship Trail."
For the next two nights, The Business storefront will host nighttime sets from Silver Torches, Don McGreevy (Earth, Master Musicians of Bukkake), Lori Goldston, Hoop, John Van Deusen, and Nicholas Krgovich (of No Kids, P:ano).
On Saturday, free shows will be held at Causland Park with Pets, Drench Fries, The Opines, Girls Named Tomorrow, Talktin and Easy, and The Shows. (Note: this is also the day of Anacortes' annual "Shipwreck Day," a giant garage sale that closes down several blocks on Commercial Avenue.) And on both nights, there will be late shows at neighborhood bars The Brown Lantern, H2O, and Rockfish Grill & Anacortes Brewery, featuring the likes of Enduro, Nate Ashley, Ever Ending Kicks, Bonneville Power, The Mosstones, Pearl Tottenham Music, Lizzie Weber, The Enthusiasts, Well Water, Sky All Around, Sleepy Genes, Silm, the Hoe and the Harrow, The Fieldboats, Bachelor #4, Silm, and more, if you can believe it.
