KEXP Rocks the Docks at Waterfront Park 7/1

Local Music, KEXP Presents

This Saturday, KEXP is heading down to Waterfront Park to "Rock the Dock" with a lineup with acts from all around the Northwest. This FREE, all-ages event includes performances from Portland punks The Thermals, Seattle's power-pop enthusiasts Bread & Butter, versatile Seattle songwriter Jenn Champion (formerly S, double formerly the lead vocalist of Carissa's Wierd), and Vancouver dream-pop act Louise Burns. The event is a part of the non-profit Friends of Waterfront Seattle’s Hot Spot program, which seeks to bring people to the waterfront and establish the waterfront as a destination for culture and music. Burns' addition to the lineup also honors Canada Day, booked in partnership with the Consulate General of Canada in Seattle.

Situated between the aquarium and The Great Wheel, this show is about as quintessential Seattle summer as you can get. You can watch the ferries depart across Elliott Bay, breath in the fresh air, and take in a flurry of guitar riffs while you're at it. Fisherman’s Restaurant will even be hosting a beer garden throughout the evening. Summers can feel fleeting in the Northwest — this way you can hit all the high marks of a Seattle summer in one evening.
