  • British shoegazers Ride made a triumphant return earlier this year with Weather Diaries, their first album in 21 years. Today they've shared a new song called "Pulsar" which, according to drummer Loz Colbert, "re-imagines old organ samples, transmissions from space, effects, heavy beats and pulsing chords.  The song title tips its head to the 60’s instrumental ’Telstar’ in name and theme; and the idea was to come up with some kind of ‘space anthem’ about light, existence, travel and return." The song was produced by Weather Diaries producer Erol Alkan. [ Pitchfork ]

  • Flying Lotus has shared a video for the new song "Post Requisite," which was featured in his recent shocking and horrifying debut film Kuso. The stop-motion video was directed by Winston Hacking and features a combination of freaky and funny images. The video description also reveals that he's working on his next album. FyLo's last release was 2014's You're Dead. The producer will be in Seattle on Tuesday, November 21 to play at 3D show at the Paramount Theatre. [ FACT ]

  • Two '90s alternative greats, Pixies and Weezer, have announced a co-headlining North American tour for summer 2018. The seven-week string of dates kicks off 6/23 in Tampa, FL, and continues through 8/12, with their (sort of) Seattle show taking place on Saturday, August 4 at the White River Amphitheatre. The Wombats will open. But you can catch Pixies sooner than that when they play the Paramount Theatre on Sunday, December 3. [ Stereogum ]

  • Nashville's Bully recently released their sophomore album, Losing, and today they've unveiled a video for the early single "Feel the Same." Created and directed by the creative team Lazy Mom, the video features stop-motion time-lapse footage flowers and food being destroyed and recreated. Frontwoman Alicia Bognannon said this about the video: "I have been a huge fan of lazy Mom for a few years now. Their ability to make vibrant, colorful art out of everyday objects amazes me. If you enjoy this video I HIGHLY recommend you check out their zine." Bully is playing Neumos on Wednesday, February 28. [ Under the Radar ]
  • Pinegrove released their spectacular breakout album, Cardinal, last year, putting them on nearly everyone's best-of lists. Today we finally have something new, a song called "Intrepid," which the band has been playing live lately. The band has been documenting the making of their new full-length in their Command + S documentary series but no official album announcement has been made. We featured Pinegrove's beloved single "Aphasia" as our Song of the Day back in July of 2016. [ SPIN ]
