  • Beach Slang either have terrible luck or are possibly not very good at locking up their equipment. The band announced today that they were, once again, robbed. The unfortunate event happened right here, in Seattle, after their November 11 show at Chop Suey. Their brief statement on Facebook reads: “OUR VAN & TRAILER WERE STOLEN LAST NIGHT. All of our gear, all of our merch, but none of our charge. It’s a pretty beautiful thing to be surrounded by people who refuse to be broken. Portland, we’ll see you tonight.” Last November the band was burglarized in Austin and lost four instruments, a GPS, a cooler, a camera, sunglasses, headphones, “and countless irreplaceable sentimental items that mean so much to us personally.” If you have any information on the missing van and trailer, please do the decent thing and help get it back to the band. • Kim Deal of The Breeders and formerly in Pixies stopped by Marc Maron's WTF podcast this weekend and confirmed that a new Breeders album is due out next year. The band released a new single, "Wait in the Car," last month but had not confirmed until now whether it was the lead single off a forthcoming album. The last album released by The Breeders was 2008's Mountain Battles. Listen to the full podcast episode here. [ SPIN ]
  • Self-proclaimed Darkwave Duchess ABRA has shared a new song "Bacardi" which is essentially a rework of Jagged Edge's Nelly-featuring "Where the Party At" combined with Lumidee's 2003 breakout hit "Never Leave You (Uh Oh)." In the description of the song on SoundCloud ABRA wrote "LETS GET BACK TO HAVIN FUN WITH OUR ART XOXO." We couldn't agree more. Her last single "Novacane" was released through the Adult Swim Singles Program back in September. [ Noisey ]
  • London/Icelandic trio Dream Wife have shared a fun, irreverent video for the song "Let's Make Out" off of the Fire EP, released a few months ago. The prom-themed video, directed by Aiden Zamiri, features the band and some friends in full '80s prom garb while making out (what else?) under the hazy lights. The band said of the video: “Prom in many ways represents us coming of age as a band and we’re hoping to usher in this new era; dancing, making out, making things with our friends and flipping the script every step of the way.” Dream Wife's self-titled full-length debut album will be out January 26 via Lucky Number.
