  • St. Vincent has shared another colorful video, this one for her second single off the forthcoming MASSEDUCTION, "Los Ageless." Directed by Willo Perron, the clip features Annie Clark at the hairdresser, getting plastic surgery, working out, and shredding paper in very vibrant, high fashion settings. MASSEDUCTION will be out October 13 via Loma Vista. The album was co-produced by Jack Antonoff and, according to Clark, is fairly autobiographical. [ Under the Radar ]
  • The Breeders made good on last Friday's teaser and are now officially back with a brand new single called "Wait In The Car." The spunky song will be on a limited edition 7" to be released by 4AD, which will be the first new release since 2009's Fate to Fatal EP. The video for "Wait In The Car" was done by Chris Bigg and Martin Anderson, which used over 800 images. “It all started with a brick. We both liked the idea of using something iconic yet quite banal. An old brick has a story and it’s a beautiful raw object. We started collecting more and more (some intact, some broken) and realised how different they all appear, each one having its own identity.” Catch The Breeders when they play The Showbox on Thursday, November 9. • Tegan and Sara are celebrating the tenth anniversary of the release of The Con by releasing The Con X: Covers on October 20, which sees other artists take on tracks from the beloved album. We've previously heard CHVRCHES take on "Call It Off" and today we received Ryan Adams' version of "Back In Your Head." Adams is no stranger to covers, he most famously (and quite adeptly) covered the entirety of Taylor Swift's 1989. Other artists on the The Con X: Covers include Grimes, Shamir, and Cyndi Lauper. Tegan and Sara will play The Moore Theatre on Friday, October 27. [ SPIN ]
  • Blue Hawaii have a forthcoming album called Tenderness to be released this Friday, October 6 via Arbutus. Today they unveiled the third single off the album, following "Versus Game" and "No One Like You," called "Do You Need Me" which features Owen Pallett. The favorite track on the record, according to singer Raphaelle Standell, she says: "It's not exactly a single, you can't really dance to it or put it on at a party, but it's beautiful and emotional and that's the kind of stuff I love making the most. Owen Pallett composed, played, and recorded all of the strings on this track. He's truly a genius and was amazing to collaborate with." [ The Line of Best Fit ]
  • Sharon Van Etten released her debut album because i was in love in 2009 and next month a deluxe reissue of the album will be released. There will also be two bonus tracks, "I'm Giving Up on You" and "You Didn't Really Do That," which were previously released as a limited-edition 7" in 2010. (it was) because i was in love will be released as a Vinyl Me Please exclusive and through Van Etten's website on November 17 via Language Of Stone/SVE Productions.
