El Sonido: Pizza Warrior y Mala Manera

This week in El Sonido we'll be checking out some new videos and sounds from around the world. And get some pizza.

With his latest album, Hiperasia, named after a chain of Chinese dollar stores in Madrid where he's now based, Spanish musician and producer Pablo Diaz-Reixa, a.k.a. El Guincho, really changed up his sound. It's still a unique whirlwind, but more electronic sexy tech. The new video for "Pizza" fits the virtual world theme of the new LP and gives us pizza as, well, drugs.

Up next is one of our favorite Chilean electropop outfits, Astro. The new video for "Warrior" comes from the latest (and maybe last) full-length, Chicos de La Luz. It's a colorful makeout session over the beautiful track. Unfortunately, lead singer Andrés Nusser announced he's leaving the group to pursue a solo career. The full band is still currently traveling together though, finishing up their planned concerts dates through July.

Heading now to la República Dominicana - We're excited about the latest track, "No Hay Manera," from the young trio MULA (featuring the twins Anabel and Cristabel, formerly known as Las Acevedo) It's a great, driving slab of dembow pop.

One of Mexico's best received modern rock acts, Little Jesus, have got a new album, Río Salvaje, on the way and el primer sincillo, "Mala Onda," is worth checking out. It's a bit of a change up in sound, but it works well and is most certainly not bad vibes.
