This week in El Sonido we're doing a bit of a video round-up preview of Primavera Sound 2016. One of the best curated multi-day events of its size in the world, this Barcelona, Spain event is an urban festival par excellence.
The 2016 edition runs June 1-5 at Parc del Fòrum and around the city with a huge bill that includes heavyweights like Radiohead, Air, LCD Soundsystem and PJ Harvey as well as other KEXP favorites like Ty Segall and The Muggers, Daughter, Tame Impala, Beach House, Mudhoney and Car Seat Headrest. Plus, the return of The Avalanches! As always, Spanish bands are well-represented and it's great to see some bands from Chile and Peru like Tunacola and Kanaku Y El Tigre on the bill this year as well. Some other unique surprises include the Senegalese Afro-Cuban band Orchestra Baobab and '70s Turkish psych-folk star Selda performing with the Israeli group Boom Pam.For this round-up we'll feature some of our latest favorite bands from Spain (representing in English, Spanish, German and Catalan), some of our KEXP favorites and more. El Sonido will be in attendance this year, we hope to see you in Barcelona! Full line-up here. And we've got a two-hour mixtape of our Spanish and Latin American picks at the bottom. Curated by Chilly and Rana San.
Here's that mixtape!
Thanks for listening. See you next time.paz.

Yet again, West Seattle emerged victorious in KEXP's annual neighborhood challenge. So, this Sunday, June 5th, we're packing up and heading across the bridge for the KEXP Hood-to-Hood Day Celebration!
It's Bike to Work Day, a day KEXP has long championed as many of us here, such as Morning Show DJ John Richards, are bike riders ourselves. KEXP has compiled a Video Roundup of bike-related songs to get you pedaling! Hit the road!
