  • It's been four years since Coexist, but London trio The xx re-emerge with a new song today, and lots of good news. Stream the single "On Hold" below, which features a pretty sweet sample of the 1981 Hall & Oates hit "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)." It's just a taste of their highly-anticipated third LP, I See You, out January 13th via Young Turks. A press release describes it as "The xx at their boldest yet, performing with more clarity and ambition than ever before." It was also announced today that they'll be the musical guest on the November 19th episode of Saturday Night Live, hosted by Kristen Wiig. Welcome back, The xx! [Under the Radar]

  • UK group Los Campesinos! share new music today, too -- stream the single "I Broke Up in Amarante" below, a sneak peek at their upcoming album, Sick Scenes, out February 24th on Wichita Recordings. In an interview with Pitchfork, frontman Gareth Campesinos! says the song was about "battling with bad mental health, trying to comfort and reason with yourself over something you can’t control. Specifically it’s about how my main coping mechanism was to keep myself constantly drunk in the blistering heat of Amarante while being failed by a largely terrible international football tournament." The band make a Monday, February 20th stop at the Neptune Theatre. [Consequence of Sound]

  • One last piece of new music, this time from Run the Jewels. Stream the single "2100" below, featuring Boots. The band released the statement: "for our friends. for our family. for everyone who is hurting or scared right now. here is a song we wrote months ago. we werent planning on releasing it yet but... well it feels right, now. its about fear and its about love and its about wanting more for all of us. its called 2100. we hope it finds you well. love, jaime and mike" No release date yet for Run the Jewels 3 (aka RTJ3), but stay tuned. [Under the Radar]

  • Elusive, influential songbird Kate Bush breaks a four year silence through an interview with BBC 6 Music’s Matt Everitt. On November 25th, Bush releases Before the Dawn, a triple-album of live recordings, and as she tells Everitt, she was terrified to return to the stage for her first concerts since 1979. She explains, "Maybe it’s that primeval thing, where you’re trying to think, ‘Can I get to that tree before the tiger gets me? Will I be able to get up high enough?’" Listen below, and check out DJ El Toro's interview with her back in 2012, here on the KEXP Blog. [Pitchfork]
