Los Angeles' Adrian Younge is a self-taught musician and highly sought-after analogue soul/funk/R&B/hip-hop producer. Bursting onto the music scene with his soundtrack to the 2009 blaxploitation parody/homage flick Black Dynamite, Younge has emerged as a distinctive artist and recording engineer with a warm and nostalgic style that focuses on live instrumentation. Over the past five years he's released three soul albums, collaborated with Ghostface Killah, Souls Of Mischief, DJ Premier, Bilal, and many other hip-hop/soul artists, while also launching his own Linear Labs record label. Hot on the heels of releasing his excellent new album, Something About April II, Younge offers up an exclusive DJ mix showcasing his vast knowledge of 70s-heavy soul, funk, and R&B, digging deep into his vinyl collection to share dusty favorites and hidden gems, many of which have been famously used as samples in popular contemporary tracks.
