Song of the Gay: Baby Dee - I Am A Stick

All this week we are celebrating Seattle Pride and PrideFest 2015 by featuring all LGBT artists for our "Song of the Gay" podcast. An original in every sense of the word, Baby Dee is an enchanting songwriter, classically trained harpist, tree surgeon, circus sideshow veteran, and transgender street legend. Her infectious cackle and extraordinary talent on piano, harp, and accordion has won her many musical admirers including Will Oldham, Antony, Matt Sweeney, Andrew WK, Little Annie, Marc Almond, and Current 93, all of whom worked with her onstage or in-studio. “I Am a Stick” is the title track from her sixth studio album, out now on Tin Angel Records.

Baby Dee played an amazing in-studio at KEXP back in 2012. She also features in Between You & Me: Confessions of a Comma Queen, the new book by her sister, New Yorker staffer Mary Norris.
