Firing on all cylinders, Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley of Drive-By Truckers zipped over to the KEXP studio to play a couple of their songs off their newest album, English Oceans. With an eight-string, robust Kay Vintage guitar and silvery crooning, the two displayed their stripped-down prowess, illustrating not only the group's talented guitarists, but also the great degree of friendship between the band's members. Known for acquiring their solid fan-base by touring almost non-stop and producing albums about every two years, Drive-By Truckers are some of the hardest working musicians around. So, whether it be their Alabama-inspired hymnals, or foot-tappin' country jam-band aesthetic, the group never stops entertaining, amusing, and reawakening our spirits to an aural experience altogether uncharted.
